Martin Visser

Martin Visser (Papendrecht, 26 January 1922-Bergeijk, 23 October 2009 ) was a Dutch furniture designer and art collector.
Visser designed furniture from an early age, but followed an MTS civil engineering training and was initially building engineer.
In 1954 he was designer and head of collection development at furniture factory 't Spectrum in Bergeijk.  In 1989 he received the Theo Limperg-price for his designs . In 1991 the Centraal Museum in Utrecht exhibited a retrospective of his work. 
His legendary sofa bed (BR 02.7) from 1956 finished third in the election best Dutch Design of the last hundred years which makes it a part of Dutch cultural heritage.
