Denis Santachiara

Denis-SantachiaraDenis Santachiara was born Campagnola (Reggio Emilia) in 1950. He started his activity in 1966 as a designer for the Centro Stile Fiat. He designs objects of high technology and artificial density, shown in personal and collective exhibitions including: the Venice Biennial, Documenta 8 Kassel, Milan Triennial '82-'84-'86, Rome Quadrennial 1999, Grand Palais in Paris and Centre Pompidou in Paris. He has designed the installation "New Persona" for the Biennale of Florence 1996/97. He has been working with Baleri Italia since 1995 and his the author of some of the ironic and poetic projects of the company such as Mama, Tato and Celine.

His objects are exhibited in the following museums: MOMA in New York, Musée des Arts Decoratifs at the Louvre in Paris, National Museum of Modern Art in Tokyo, Lyon Museum, Frankfurt Museum, Philadelphia Museum, Vitra Museum. In 1999, he was awarded the Good Design Award by the Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design and in April 2000, he was awarded the Design World prize. He has worked and continues to work with Italian and international companies, such as: SniaViscosa, CentrostileFiat, Progettocultura ‘Montedison’, French Ministry of Culture, Artemide, Swatch, Mandarina Duck, Rosenthal, Panasonic, Domodinamica, BPT, Vitra, Campeggi, Superga, Bang & Olufsen, Banca Generali, De Padova, Chrysler/Benz, Foscarini, Marutomy, Baleri Italia, La Murrina, Tonelli, Triangolo, Magis, Zerodisegno.
